Saulo Ribeiro l'evoluzione dell'apertura della guardia in ginocchio - Saulo Ribeiro opening closed guard from knees evolution

Saul Riberio is one of the few competitors who open the closed guard from the knee. His approach is constantly evolving.

First stage - Saulo doesn't place the knee in the middle of the butt but sideways. The other leg step back at 45° and it is not the arm or the elbow to open the guard but the body that pushes downwards.

Second stage - Saulo to create more tension towards the ankles Saulo step back with both knees, then one
leg step back at 45° but this time to open the guard he turns his body.

Third stage -  In this stage there is a substantial transformation of the technique. In some ways it resembles his  way t open the guard standing. The position of the knee or knees is irrelevant. Instead of stepping back the leg at  45°, Saulo takes a lateral step at 90°,  then lifts the other knee from the ground and takes a side step in the direction of the first leg.

While in the first two stages the pressure and rotation of the body is directed towards the kneeling leg  in the third stage to open the  guard Saulo moves in the direction of the leg that has made the first step The third version is more dynamic and is a cross between a kneeling position and a standing position.
